I have a girlfriend. Shes not the brightest girl I’ve met.
Her communication skills are not that great, sometimes she just pauses in middle of a conversation trying to think of the right words.
English is not her first language, but she tries to speak fluent, often stammering along the way.
While I’ve been chasing success, juggling multiple projects together, her priorities are simple.
- Eat Good Food
- Spend Time with Me
- Sleep well
Of all the things Ive noticed about her, one thing I found standing out is the ability to admire without desire.
She’ll go the mall, see all the wonderful things there, admire it and then forget about it.
When a new iPad or iphone releases, I want it.
I would probably buy it too.
That’s the reason I have 4 smartphones.
This lady uses a 6-year old phone and when she sees anything shiny, she says that it looks so cool, its wonderful but never wants it.
Its not that she doesn’t have money to purchase it, its not in her priority list.
Its more of admiration over desire.
Over the last year, I’ve become more aware of the things that really matter.
May be admiration over desire is something I should learn.
